Have you ever had everything mapped out—every detail planned, every box checked—only to have it all unravel in a moment?
You had the plan. The timeline. The supplies. The vision of how it was all supposed to go. And then, without warning, something shifts. Your routine changes. Time slips away. Home life adjusts. Work demands more. And suddenly, what felt certain now feels completely out of reach.
My story today is nothing new. In fact, I can almost guarantee that the future will hold more moments just like this. Because life has a way of reminding us that we are not as in control as we like to believe.
It’s almost like our plans are blown away in the wind—like a dandelion seed. Light, scattered, and gone before we can catch them again. Wishful thinking, we might call it. Or maybe just the reality of being human.
But in a recent season filled with unexpected turns and reality checks, I’ve been reminded of something deeper—something steadier than any plan I could ever create:
God’s plans are better.
Not always easier. Not always clearer. And definitely not always what I would have chosen in the moment. But better.
Because even when we feel crushed and disappointed…
Even when worry creeps in and uncertainty feels overwhelming…
God has us.
He has not changed. Not in His nature, not in His promises, not in His faithfulness.
He will never let go.
So when te school didn't work out, or you have to move from a house you just finished fixing up and feeling settled in, or the job changed, or your family as a whole are carrying a lot, or you found new friendships you dont want to lose, or all of this happens at the same time…
There is something incredibly grounding about remembering who God is, especially when everything around us feels unstable. His attributes are not just comforting ideas—they are anchors. He is our rock. Our security. Our constant in the middle of shifting circumstances.
He holds us under His wings, even when we don’t understand where the wind is taking us.
And somehow—mysteriously, faithfully—He works every situation together for our good.
That truth took time for me to truly understand.
Because what is “good” in an eternal sense doesn’t always look good through the lens of this world. It doesn’t always align with our expectations, our timelines, or our definitions of success. Sometimes, it looks like delay. Sometimes, it feels like loss. Sometimes, it comes wrapped in discomfort and stretching.
But real good—the kind God promises—brings peace. A deep, steady peace that doesn’t depend on everything going our way.
Looking back, I can see it more clearly now. The moments I once questioned. The paths I didn’t choose. The plans that fell apart. Each one holds evidence of His faithfulness. Each one tells a story of how He carried me, provided for me, and guided me in ways I couldn’t see at the time.
And that remembrance builds something stronger than fear—it builds trust.
So as I look ahead, into all the unknowns and all the plans I haven’t yet made, I find myself holding onto something far more secure than my own understanding.
I’m holding onto God’s hand.
Because if He has been faithful before—and He has—then He will be faithful again.
Even when plans drift.
Even when life shifts.
Even when I don’t understand.
He is still good.
He is still present.
And He is still working.
“For God works all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”
—Romans 8:28
